Manila is the capital of the Philippines and one of the busiest city in Southeast Asia. Manila is the biggest city in the Philippines which is found in Luzon. Manila evolved from a humble beginnings as a village and has grown to become the commercial, governmental and educational centre of the country. Now Manila is the bustling nerve centre of the Philippines.

Manila is one of the nine cities of the metropolis called Metro Manila. The other cities are Quezon City, Makati, Pasay, Pasig, Kalookan, Las Pinas, Paranaque and Mandaluyong. Manila is a combination of old and new traditions and customs that makes the city so amazing. Fort Santiago: Located on the north-western route to Intramuros. This Spanish fortress was Spain's major defense position against pirates and invaders. Fort Santiago is also known as the "Shrine of Freedom". This fabulous Fort still has the huge canon that is looking out to the sea.

Chinatown: Located in Binondo, Manila. Chinatown symbolizes the long history of Chinese living here in the Philippines. The Chinese is involve in trade and businessin the Pre-Spanish Period.

Casa Manila: Located on Calle Real cor. general Luna St., Intramuros, Manila. Casa Manila is a Colonial Lifestyle Museum which features antique furnitures and furnishings that is dated back in the 19th century. Also, you can see famous rare collections like religious images, antique piano, crystal chandeliers, four-poster ebony bed, Chinese ceramics and many more that only rich people in the past can afford to buy.

Malacañang Palace: The official residence of the President of the Philippines. Located along the north bank of the Pasig River in Manila. In the spanish Period, Malacañang Palace was also the seat of the head of Government of the Philippines.

Manila Cathedral: The Manila Cathedral has a beautiful design and architecture. The Cathedral has magnificent stone carving and rosette windows. Mosaic artwork decorates three of its side chapels and these along with other artist designs. The Manila Cathedral is the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of Manila. Located at the Plaza Roma, Intramuros, Manila.

Rizal Park: One of the largest park in Southeast Asia. Rizal Park is known as the Bagumbayan field during the Spanish Period. This park was used for execution ground by the Spaniards for the Filipino Rebels.

University of Sto. Thomas: The oldest University of the country and Asia. This University was founded in 1611 by Reverend Father Miguel de Benavides. UST was used by the Japanese forces as a concentration camp for merican, British, Canadians and other allied nationals.
